The Cooperative Brain Imaging Center is a unique collaboration between Goethe University, the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, and the Ernst Strüngmann Institute of the Max Planck Society. It combines state-of-the-art imaging technologies with interdisciplinary teams of experts. Two 3-Tesla and one 7-Tesla MRI scanner, as well as a 275-channel magnetoencephalograph, enable highly precise investigations of brain function across all stages of life.

STUDY PARTICIPATION

Our research focuses on the brain-based foundations of language and memory, neurological and psychiatric disorders, and the neural mechanisms underlying human cognition, skill acquisition, and creativity.

EVENTS & TEACHING

The weekly CoBIC meetings feature project presentations and are complemented by scientific talks of external speakers throughout the year. Events such as the popular “Hirngespinste” series, which pairs neuroscience talks with concerts, open the CoBIC to the interested public.
